Dawit Menelik Tafari the world citizen; spent his formative years in Jamaica where his love and talent for music grew. He later returned to London where his skill as a singer, songwriter and music producer progressed. In 1979 when Dawit was known as Top Cat, Melody Muzik Sound Productions was conceived and established with specific aims and objectives of creating original Roots Reggae Music. Dawit’s travels have exposed him to a multitude of cultures and vibrations which influence his musical style.
Dawit has embarked on a new album Troubled Times with fellow artist, producer and record label executive Reality SoulJah of RSS Productions / Reality Sound System Records to bring a message of enlightenment and positivity to uplift the world in it’s current climate of crisis.
Troubled Times, the tittle track of the album delves into the problems faced by the inhabitants of the planet,
Song 2, Ever Changing World, embodies the need for change in attitudes and perceptions,
Song 3, No Mystery, tells us sometimes the answers are plain to see,
Song 4, Knowledge We Searching For, to attain higher learning,
Song 5, Breakout of the Spell, Cast away the manipulation of the system.
All 5 songs are accompanied by dub mixes from Reality SoulJah.
